U Harley Davidson. 1200cc sidevalve, 3 speed and reverse gearbox
The first owner was the Harley Davidson Dealer in Sydney Australia and
second a farmer, One day it stopped running and he left it in a shed until
bought by a seasonal worker on his farm who got it going and put ape
hangers and extended forks on it. The farm worker came to live in New
Zealand bringing the motorcycle with him. It was sold on and rebuilt with
the correct forks and handlebars imported from the USA.
Due to marital problems it was on the market in 1979 when the present
owner bought it. Since buying it he has rebuilt the motor with new
pistons, new big ends and main, new valves, guides and springs. The clutch
was rebuilt along with all four wheels. Used as a solo machine for four
years, the sidecar was imported from Australia later. He enjoyed the ride
and found it a good reliable machine, reluctantly age has forced a sale.
