This gem of an Indian is
registered and warranted with clear title and has been our Indian club
editors machine for over ten years. It has been ridden occasionally and to
each rally and the likes.
Within the last two or three thousand mile the following has been done,
with little else needing attention.
* Motor re-bored and fitted out with the Kiwi Indian 600cc kit including
new crank, pinion and drive pins, new rollers and retainers, new rocker
shafts, valve guides k-lined. Owner admits pushrod guides show wear and is
providing another set with the bike, however engine does not smoke
or burn oil and is very easy starting.* Carb has also been fully recond
to suit larger engine capacity and is the correct Linkert M741. Generator
charging well and has had new brushes and bearings and gives no trouble.
* Primary overhauled, new primary chain, new clutch basket, new plates and
springs. Oil pumps been reconditioned. Distributor has been re-bushed, new
points and condenser and new coil.
* Wheels and hubs. both stripped and services with new seals,
bearings and relined shoes. has near rear chain, sprockets and drive train
v.good. New Rear tire and front about a third wear.
* Fuel tanks have been cleaned and sealed with an aircraft 2pac
anticorrosive coating.
The paint is in reasonable condition but as the owner says is is a
rider not a show queen, rims and handlebars are in alum paint. Seat
rebuilt with heavy stock leather and stitched to original!.
In terms of originality its a very honest bike, with original motolamp,
side stand, center stand, carrier, and ammeter!. However Tail lights
non standard (bracket is right), ALL original sheet metal except for
stainless repro toolbox and batt box, both copies. Now on to the horn, is
the original shell and face and looks stock but has a smaller 6v horn
planted inside. Lastly, and also minor, ign/light switch is not stock and
is missing the dash panel.
